Our Construction Signs are made of Signflute™ Corrugated Plastic. If you are ordering Construction Signs or using our Online Design Tool, we recommend making sure this material and the designs are right for your needs and meets any business and Government regulations/restrictions before ordering.
It all depends on UV Exposure. However our new generation Signflute™ corrugated plastic and advanced printing technology provides a longer life expectancy than other lower grade corrugated plastic materials on the market. If the signs are always outdoors and exposed to UV, the life expectancy has increased from around 12 months to over 15 months. If they are indoors they will last for years!
Signflute™ Signs are typically ordered in sizes of 18”, 24”,36” or 47”, but it’s important to note that there may be a 3/8 inch margin of error in the sign’s actual size. As a result, your 47” Signflute™ sign may be cut to a width of 46 5/8”. However, this margin of error is generally imperceptible to the sign’s viewers.
Clear grommets are the latest in grommet technology. The old metal grommets would block the graphic on your sign and be very noticeable - but you can see straight through the clear grommets. This allows you to see more of your graphic on the sign as the clear grommets are barely noticeable. The clear grommets are also just as strong as the metal grommets but will not rust. The signs look significantly better with the clear grommets.
The maximum sheet size is 47” x 35” - however we can make any size sign you require by supplying multiple sheets.
It is important to let us know if you need the flutes to run in a particular direction. This could apply if you are using the corrugated plastic sign with metal stakes (in which case you would need vertical flutes so the spikes can slide into the flutes), or if you are attaching the corrugated plastic sign to a single vertical post or telegraph pole (in which case you would need horizontal flutes to provide extra strength and prevent the sign bending around the pole). If you do not specify a flute direction the signs will be made with the flute direction that provides us with the best yield.
Yes, our price includes the set up cost for 1 design only. If you have multiple designs for the same size you will still get the lower bulk price, however there is a small multiple artwork charge applied for each additional design to cover our extra set up costs. Simply enter the total number of signs required and then the total number of designs into the pricing calculator above - and it will work out an accurate price for you.
Signflute™ is made from polypropylene which is a recyclable plastic resin. The plastic resin is identified as a category 5 product and most local councils will offer to recycle these products, please check with your local council on how to do so. The clear plastic grommets can also be recycled in the same way.
The UV inks that are used on the Durst P5 printer meet the following certifications:
All Signflute™ waste that occurs throughout the printing process at Easy Signs is recycled with a third party company where it is granulated and used to make new corrugated plastic sheets, meaning that no waste ends up in landfill!

The R2000 flatbed printer is a 6 color flatbed printer which provides more vibrant colors and sharper print quality than conventional flatbed printers. Using the latest Latex printing process with water based inks, it provides glossier prints with greater scratch resistance and no UV smell!

Signflute™ corrugated plastic has been specifically developed to match the demands of the new high speed flatbed printers and inks.
The corrugated plastic material needed to improve at the same rate as the printers to ensure maximum adhesion of the ink to the substrate. The older styles of corrugated plastic were found to be unsuitable for these high tech flatbed printers. They did not have the adhesive properties required - so the ink would just crack and fall off them after a short time!
Our exhaustive testing of many brands of corrugated plastic has shown that Signflute™ corrugated plastic - with its smooth surface and very high dyne levels - provides us with the highest quality print results and ink adhesion.
Our Zund digital flatbed cutters cut all of our corrugated plastic signs and ensures that the signs are cut to the exact size required - and with perfectly cut edges.
No more of the old hand-cut signs which inevitably had rough edges and inconsistent shape and size! The flutes in the corrugated plastic material make it too difficult to manually cut accurately - you need high tech machines to make perfect cuts.
Our digital flatbed cutters take away all the human error from cutting. They are fast and accurate and ensures that our finished signs look amazing!
Our color management system ensures that all of our printers print the correct color every time.
As part of our color management system, we have profiled all of our printers and materials to print to the ISO12647 color standard. We also implement weekly color checks on all printers to ensure the accuracy of the color we are printing for our customers.
